JETAA London Japan Quake Response

Charity Event In Aid Of Japan Quake And Tsunami

Following Friday's tsunami the Red Cross have launched an emergency Japan Tsunami Appeal, and our regular pub night venue Life is hosting a fundraising event tomorrow night (15 March).

JETAA London will be supporting this event and we encourage as many of you as possible to attend. We're really grateful for all the emails and posts asking how ex-JETs can help; this is one practical way to do so and show our support for Japan.

We were relieved to hear yesterday that all 40 UK JETs working in the North East region have been accounted for.

The event is'Da Life Charity Event in Aid of Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Diaster' - You can find more information about this event on their facebook page.

UK JETAA Participants Confirmed Safe

Our headquarters in Japan, CLAIR Tokyo has confirmed the safety of the 40 JET participants from the United Kingdom who were working in areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami last Friday in North-East Japan.

The past few days have been very difficult as the full extent of the disaster is only now becoming clear, but we know that the authorities are doing their best to help as many people as they can in a situation which is still dangerous.

We would like to thank everyone who sent in messages over the weekend, thank you for your thoughts at this time.
