Tohoku Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami Relief: Special Grants
The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation extends its deepest sympathy to the many thousands of Japanese people who have suffered, or who have lost family and friends, as a result of the devastating Tohoku Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami on 11 March 2011.
Once the immediate and emergency relief has been completed, and the basic short-term needs of the victims of the disaster have been met, there will be much to do in rebuilding the lives of the huge number of people who have been affected both physically and mentally.
We have already received many enquiries with regard to grant assistance not only towards initiatives that will help the massive fundraising effort that is taking place now, but also towards all kinds of future projects/ initiatives /research that will contribute to an enormous long-term international relief effort.
We have accordingly set up a special fund for such applications and it will operate alongside our regular grant programme. Applicants should therefore use our standard application form click here and append to it a short statement outlining the extent to which their project is expected to contribute to the relief effort, its relative impact and how it will meet its objectives.
We should be glad to discuss potential proposals with applicants.
