JPU Records is proud to announce that it will be organising the official HYPER JAPAN after party on Saturday 26 July 2014. The event, celebrating all things J-pop, will take place at Namco Funscape in County Hall, Westminster, from 7pm and will be entirely free entry for all.
Four performance artists will be joining the event. Coming all the way from Japan will be cute punk rockers Broken Doll and ‘KimiCos’ duo YANAKIKU, plus British talents Kero Kero Bonito and Kelsey Ellison. There will also be popular tracks from Japan spun by JPU Records to keep the party atmosphere buzzing, as well as arcade machines, a licensed bar, snacks, dodgems, bowling and more available at additional costs.
JPU Records will also be exhibiting at HYPER JAPAN in Earls Court between 25-27 July, selling a wide range of CDs and merchandise from Japanese rock, pop and metal artists. The label will also be collecting ‘get well soon’ messages from fans of its artist SPYAIR. The pop-rock band, which has music in The Amazing Spider-Man and anime series Bleach and Gundam, recently had to postpone tour dates due to vocalist IKE suffering from acute bronchitis.

A secret multi-course Japanese dinner with audio / visual experiences whilst meeting new people in an art gallery in east London.
And you can bring your own booze x
For this new concept we have hired an art gallery in a warehouse conversion 4 min walking from Whitechapel station to host our most ambitious Japanese dining experience with the feeling of a trip to Tokyo and where sounds and images blur the line between real and unreal.
About the menu
The dinner will start with a watercress salad with sesame dressing. The creamy, sweet and nutty dressing is made by blending sesame seeds, rapeseed oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce and sugar.
The smokiness and umami of katsuobushi (bonito flakes) adds complexity to the dish.
We will then be serving the square-shaped, incredibly silky and firm Sanuki udon with an umami-rich dashi broth, citrus-marinated Scottish smoked mackerel and mixed seaweeds.
The following course will be a fresh contrast of textures, featuring soft tofu, grated ginger and katsuobushi.
A refreshing summery dish that we find works particularly well after the richness of the udon.
The last course will be a selection of Japanese sweets: matcha dorayaki (the Japanese interpretation of the pancake, filled with green tea powder custard), chocolate mochi (a thin layer of glutinous rice enclosing a chocolate ganache) and aka daifuku (a glutinous rice cake filled with anko, a sweet azuki bean paste)
