Running from 25th May to 3rd June 2017, PROJECT2017 is a new zero-commission contemporary art fair, and is dedicated to abstract drawings and paintings exploring themes of change and transformation.
The exhibition provides a platform for contemporary artists to showcase their work and present it directly to collectors, curators, critics and art enthusiasts. The programme is supported by a series of talks and events and offers visitors the unique opportunity to meet the artists and buy artworks directly from their creators.
This May, Gallery Elena Shchukina will showcase the works of 12 artists including one Japanese artist – Ai Campbell.
Ai Campbell is a visual artist who was born in Osaka, Japan and trained in oil painting at the Kyoto College of Art and Design. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been exhibited widely in New York and the United States, as well as in Japan and Spain. Working in ink and acrylic, Campbell creates delicate yet intricate works that celebrate the compelling nature of art’s most basic elements, using the monochromatic colors of black and white to amplify the contrast between positive and negative spaces.
