The UK-Japan Music Society and UK-Japan Choir were founded in September 1992, as a result of the Japan Festival 1991 (which was to celebrate 100th anniversary since the Japan Society was founded), and the UK-Japan Choir performed Handel’s Messiah in December 1992.
Since 2003 the Society has presented Christmas Concert at St John’s Wood Church in London, featuring young singers and instrumentalists from Japan & UK, in some years introducing carols to the Japanese community.
This December they are performing the Messiah on Saturday 3 December at St John’s Wood Church.
‘We will also be doing our first Japan tour in April 2017, singing 4 concerts in Tokyo, Kobe and Kyoto over two weekends on 7-17 April 2017 approximately. You are very welcome to join us on the tour if you become a member.’
